Mr King has worked across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and the US in upstream exploration and production projects, offshore contracting, pipeline projects, asset sale and purchase, and independent power projects.
Minter Ellison's resources, agriculture and energy industry leader Simon Scott said: “We're delighted to welcome a lawyer of John's calibre to our international energy team to spearhead the practice in the Perth office. The oil and gas industry is a key driver of our economy – by 2020, it is projected to put almost $65 billion annually into the Australian economy and account for 3.5 per cent of GDP.”
He added: “John's international energy experience and oil and gas focus are particularly valuable given the long-term structural importance of this industry to Australia, and especially in a resource-rich state such as Western Australia.”
Minter Ellison also added senior property lawyer Adrian Rich to their Brisbane office as a special counsel recently.
