Ms Lyons has been with the DSD since 2009 and prior to her new role was employed as the department’s director of legal services.
While at the DSD, Ms Lyons has provided extensive legal advice on a range of complex matters, including approval pathways for infrastructure projects, real estate developments, resources projects, native title, tender processes and market-led proposals.
Before working at the DSD, Ms Lyons was a senior associate at Allens for over 11 years, working primarily in the firm’s infrastructure projects group. Here, she gained considerable experience acting for government on transport and water infrastructure projects.
“I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to lead such a high-performing legal team and support the delivery of the department’s strategic objectives, in particular, facilitating major projects in new and emerging industries,” Ms Lyons said, commenting on her new role.
