Adelaide's young lawyers will soon be whipped into shape thanks to a new initiative being launched today by the Law Society of South Australia's Young Lawyers (LSSAYL).

The ACT Law Society's Young lawyer of the year is adamant about the value of one lesson learnt in his short time practising law: that a lawyer must do much more than merely practise law.

The legal profession needs to adapt to the needs of young lawyers, the president of the Law Council of Australia, John Corcoran, said recently, because young lawyers have few qualms about leaving one employer for another if it will aid their careers.
