  • Senior Associate with at least 5 years' demonstrated real estate experience

Our leading and dynamic Real Estate group continues to be widely recognised for our consistent track record of providing innovative and commercially astute legal advice that spans the full breadth of property sector transactions.  Our lawyers advise property developers, property fund managers and corporates on major acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, leasing and property management services  of major commercial, retail, industrial and hotel properties.  The group also acts for both public and private sector infrastructure clients in major property development and urban renewal projects , as well as advising on the environment, regulatory and planning aspects of new developments and projects.

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our friendly and collaborative real estate team in Melbourne. In this role, you will work with leading Partner David Sinn, whose practice spans real estate mergers and acquisitions, investment, development, leasing and joint ventures. David’s real estate expertise is recognised in the market – he is named as one of Australia’s best real estate lawyers in Best Lawyers International and a leading real estate lawyer by Chambers Asia-Pacific.

This role will see you working on high profile and complex matters for well-respected clients. On any given day, you could be working closely with our partners and client contacts on major retail centres, commercial buildings acquisitions and disposals. You may also be working as part of a team across the broader firm nationally on property-related aspects of a variety of transactions,  including corporate M&A transactions and key urban renewal projects and infrastructure developments.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Associate will also include managing clients and supervising more junior members of our team, both locally and nationally. Working in this role will offer you the opportunity to get involved in top quality work here in Australia and may also offer access to other opportunities within our wider global network, at a suitable and appropriate time in your career.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are currently seeking candidates with at least 5 years+ demonstrated real estate experience, excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail as well as a strong team player. Also, a positive ‘can do’ approach and a commercial focus will stand you in good stead for this opportunity.

We are also happy to consider applications from Australian-admitted lawyers who are looking to return from overseas.
