Pipers calls up 23

Piper Alderman has announced 23 promotions in all of the firm’s practice groups across its four national offices.

The most senior appointees include Nick Prove, who has been promoted to partner in the property team in Brisbane, and Alison Crawford, who is now special counsel in Adelaide’s dispute resolution team.

The promotions add depth to the Pipers team, which has recently seen the lateral hires of Lexia Wilson in property, Richard Chew in IT and Jacquie Browning in banking and finance.

 “We are very proud that many of those we have promoted started as part of our Graduate Program. Today’s promotions demonstrate the firm’s genuine dedication to growing, supporting and nurturing our people,” said the firm’s managing partner, Tony Phelps.

Four senior associates were promoted in the dispute resolution team: Valerie Blacker in Brisbane, Maurice Lynch in Sydney and James Nunn and Brooke Willshire in Adelaide.

Will Fennell was promoted to senior associate in the Adelaide corporate team, James Ryan in the Sydney property and projects team and Kelly Scott in the Adelaide property and projects team.

The remaining promotions were to associate level:

Cheryl Nemeth, Intellectual Property & Technology – Melbourne

Gabriella Plummer, Corporate – Sydney

Llon Riley, Corporate – Brisbane

Vanessa Rowe, Dispute Resolution – Sydney

Jen Tan, Corporate – Adelaide

Deniz Tas, Property & Projects – Sydney

Steven Taylor, Dispute Resolution – Sydney

Courtney Wright, Dispute Resolution – Melbourne

The promotions bring Piper Alderman’s partnership count to 53, with 190 legal professionals in all.
