Banking partner returns to Norton Rose

Long-serving King & Wood Mallesons banking partner Nuncio D’Angelo has returned to Norton Rose.

D’Angelo will head up Norton Rose Australia’s banking & finance team in Sydney.

The announcement follows two other senior hires to this practice group – partner Chris Redden and general counsel Vittorio Casamento.

D’Angelo’s appointment is yet another move to strengthen Norton Rose’s banking & finance practice, according to Wayne Spanner, managing partner at Norton Rose Australia.

“We will continue to ... invest in the key sectors driving global growth,” Spanner said in a statement.

D’Angelo was a lawyer at Norton Rose Group from 1988 to 1991, working from both its Middle East and London offices. He joined KWM in 1995.

“It is great to be able to welcome Nuncio back to Norton Rose,” Spanner said.

He added that D’Angelo brings technical expertise to Norton Rose Australia’s banking offering. He also indicated that the firm would continue to seek out “top legal talent”.

D’Angelo’s current practice focuses on corporate finance. He has acted for major banks and blue-chip corporates across various types of corporate funding arrangements as well as insolvency workouts and distressed-debt trading.
