Rigby Cooke hires insolvency specialists

Rigby Cooke Lawyers announced the appointments of litigation partner Howard Chait and special counsel Radhika Kanhai last week.

Chait has been practising in the areas of insolvency, corporate reconstructions, banking litigation and commercial litigation since 1988. He has extensive experience in providing litigation and insolvency advice to liquidators, administrators, receivers and financial institutions.

Managing partner David Lawson said: “The addition of Howard Chait to our firm is extremely important and signals our commitment to building in this area of practice.”

Chait has also been involved in a wide range of commercial litigation on behalf of both individuals and companies, and undertakes work in a variety of areas, including directors’ duties, shareholder complaints, property disputes, contractual disputes and intellectual property.

Kanhai will also specialise in insolvency. “Radhika’s extensive experience in complex court litigation and dispute resolution includes corporate reconstruction and insolvencies, contractual breaches and Corporations Act matters, and she brings a focus on high-level strategic advice to her clients throughout all stages of their dispute,” said Lawson.

As an accredited mediator, Kanhai is committed to alternative dispute resolution and to obtaining practical and cost-effective outcomes for her clients.
