The firm today announced the appointment of resources and property lawyer Michelle Sirasch.

Partner and Newcastle office head Michael Rochester said the latest appointment reflected continued growth in client demand for property services, as part of their resources and infrastructure activities.

The appointment comes just months after the recruitment of resources, planning and environment lawyers Brendan Tobin and Ross Mackay, who were appointed a year after the Newcastle office opened.

The new appointment has been earmarked to bolster the firm’s transactional property depth.

“Land access and acquisition continue to be key issues for project proponents, including resources companies,” Sirasch herself said.

“Major infrastructure projects, either in planning or in construction delivery, have property-related issues which are crucial to their successful execution.

“Developers are also looking forward to growth in new projects in 2010 as the local economy recovers and the need to address housing shortages returns to the state agenda,” she said.
