MIDDLETONS has made a new partner appointment, taking a partner from law firm Herbert Geer for its property practice.

Vicki Sharp has been hired for her experience in commercial, residential, industrial and retail property, the firm said today.

Middletons national managing partner, Nick Nichola said the new recruit is an “experienced operator”, working for leading Australian companies with significant property interests and developers.

The firm is seeing an increase in property deals as the economy picks up, Nichola said.

Sharp advises major corporates and owners, tenants and landlords, assisting them to develop and manage their property portfolios and emerging and established property developers.

As well, she advises in relation to purchases and sales, leases and lease disputes, subdivisions and owners corporation issues as well as residential, industrial and commercial property developments.

Middletons has made some significant hires this year. In September is secured a workplace relations team from Hall & Wilcox. New partner Penny Stevens, took over the lead role, joined by special counsel Nicole Fauvrelle, senior associate Kim Grady and lawyer Sam Jackson

In May it hired a former Clayton Utz senior associate to its partnership when Paris Petranis joined the corporate and commercial group in Melbourne. Another Clayton Utz lawyer, Kate Marshall, also moved across to Middletons’ technology and innovations group as partner.
