Michael Westaway will be joined by his team, including Matthew Powell, who is currently an associate at TressCox.

The new recruit has acted for clients in both private and public companies, listed property trusts, property developers and aged care providers.

His experience extends to all types of commercial property transactions, including sales and acquisitions, commercial and retail leasing, joint ventures and developments, his new firm said this week. 

“Our property practice has enjoyed tremendous success in recent times, advising many of Australia’s leading property developers, owners, tenants and fund managers. Michael’s expertise and background will further enhance our offering in this area and we believe that he will be a tremendous addition to our firm” said Juan Martinez, managing partner of HWL Ebsworth.

Westaway is joining the Melbourne office of HWL Ebsworth from TressCox, and is expected to commence with the firm in early November 2011.
