DLA Piper undertakes promotion spree

DLA Piper has promoted seven lawyers to its partnership in the Asia Pacific. The move is part of a 58-lawyer promotion boom globally.

DLA Piper has promoted seven lawyers to its partnership in the Asia Pacific. The move is part of a 58-lawyer promotion boom globally.

In Asia Pacific, the lawyers were promoted to partner across corporate, finance and projects, litigation and regulatory and intellectual property and technology practice groups in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Perth, Shanghai and Sydney.

The entire 58 promotions, effective from 1 January 2012 in the United States and 1 May 2012 for EMEA and Asia Pacific, were made across a range of practice areas in 15 countries.

In Australia, six lawyers were also promoted to special counsel and 16 lawyers were promoted to senior associate across a range of practice groups and offices.

In the Asia Pacific, the new partners include Anderson Lam in Hong Kong, Bruce Linke in Melbourne, Kaichen Xu in Shanghai, Mike Suen and Phil Lam in Hong Kong, Richard Edwards in Perth, and Simone Mitchell in Sydney.
