International commercial litigation specialist Mark Elvy has been appointed as a partner in Ashurst's Sydney dispute resolution practice.

International commercial litigation specialist Mark Elvy has been appointed as a partner in Ashurst's Sydney dispute resolution practice.
Elvy, an Australian who was a partner for 16 years with Ashurst in the UK, has been consulting to Ashurst and other international organisations since he returned to Australia in 2010 following a 23-year stint working overseas.
The managing partner of Ashurst in Australia, John Carrington, said Elvy is experienced in complex and high-profile commercial, financial and product liability disputes, with particular expertise in class actions and regulatory investigations and proceedings.
"He has strong relationships with significant global clients of Ashurst and has acted as the lead international counsel in relation to disputes brought in various jurisdictions over a number of years,” said Carrington.
Elvy said Ashurst was well placed to assist most of his clients, which are large international corporations.
"I'm re-joining the firm I know so well, and at an incredibly exciting time as we step onto a truly global platform,” said Elvy.
"Ashurst in Australia has a very strong dispute resolution team and I look forward to helping the Australian and global dispute resolution practices grow and develop further."
