Norton Rose has made a new lateral partner hire in Josh Paffey, the former head of McInnes Wilson’s construction and infrastructure group.

Paffey joins Norton Rose’s national construction and engineering (C&E) group, which has grown 150 per cent – or by 15 additional fee earners – in the last three years.

Norton Rose Australia’s managing partner Wayne Spanner said Paffey strengthens the group’s expertise, particularly in energy, infrastructure, mining and commodities.

Paffey advises owners, contractors and Government-owned corporations operating in the energy, infrastructure, mining and resources sectors. He will be based in the firm’s Brisbane office, advising on all aspects of project delivery and in relation to dispute resolution, including arbitration, adjudication and litigation.

“[Norton Rose’s] technical expertise in key industry sectors, including oil and gas, power generation and distribution and mining, is critical to my clients,” said Paffey, adding that the firm’s international network would provide his clients with access to “the highest quality legal advice available”.
