Investment firm appoints new legal head

Mirvac Group’s former company secretary has taken on the role of head of legal at Australian investment manager Tyndall AM.

Kristy Do (pictured) joined Tyndall AM last month as part of the company’s strengthening of its in-house legal and compliance capabilities; it appointed James Wincott as its head of risk & compliance in September.

Do has 14 years’ legal experience, with 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry.  She was recently at Mirvac and before that she was with ANZ Wealth as a senior lawyer. She has also worked at ASIC as manager (large entities, financial services compliance division), which involved managing the relationships with large institutions licensed by ASIC, and as a senior lawyer within the Enforcement Directorate of ASIC.

She also worked as a solicitor for Collins Biggers & Paisley and Goldsmiths Lawyers.

“As the legal and compliance requirements for all participants in the financial services industry become increasingly stringent, we have been making a big investment to further build on the expertise and skills of our in-house team, to ensure we remain on top of, if not ahead of, those requirements,” said Tyndall AM managing director Mike Davis.

“Kristy is a highly-qualified and experienced legal professional who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our existing high-quality team.”

Do holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science from University of Sydney and is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.

Tyndall AM is an Australian investment manager, which manages approximately $23 billion in funds on behalf of retail and institutional investors, private clients, superannuation funds and charitable trusts.
