Ashurst has nabbed Clayton Utz partner Angus Foley for its infrastructure practice in Sydney, along with another partner from Ashurst’s Tokyo practice.
Foley (pictured) and Harvey Weaver, who will relocate from the Tokyo office to Sydney, will join Ashurst’s infrastructure and transport practice in July.

Foley, who is a banker, joined Clutz in 2011, when the firm created a new director role in its project finance team. He has also been a director at investment banking company Credit Agricole CIB.
At Clutz, Foley advised on the restructure of the Waratah Train Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in NSW and the Abbot Point coal terminal in Queensland.
Weaver has international experience in infrastructure projects from working in the UK, Hong Kong and Tokyo, with particular expertise in transport and energy projects.
Ashurst’s infrastructure team is currently working on projects such as the $8 billion Alpha Coal and $18.5 billion Gladstone LNG projects, and the $1.6 billion light rail PPP in Sydney.
Ashurst’s former head of infrastructure Chris Mitchell defected to King & Wood Mallesons in February.
