Watermark Intellectual Property has nabbed the head of Rio Tinto’s IP team and a senior associate from a rival firm.
Rio Tinto special counsel Carla Degenhardt has joined the Sydney office of Watermark, along with former Shelston IP senior associate Michelle Cooper.

Ms Degenhardt led the Australian IP team at Rio Tinto and was responsible for the development of IP strategy, commercialisation and enforcement.
She is also a member of the IP Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Ms Cooper was a senior associate at Sydney IP boutique Shelston IP for seven years.
Watermark has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
