Johnson Winter & Slattery has announced the appointment of a new partner in its Sydney M&A team.

Marcus Clark (pictured) has joined JWS from Allens, but has practised in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and the US. He is admitted to practise in NSW and New York.

Mr Clark has expertise in the agribusiness and resources sectors, and has a specialist focus on securing Australian foreign investment approvals. He has led many high-profile and complex cross-border transactions with a range of notable listed and private entities.

Peter Slattery, Johnson Winter & Slattery's managing partner, said: "Our M&A pipeline is strong, and we think we'll continue to see significant emerging opportunities in M&A markets for some time yet.”

He continued: “Having a high-calibre individual like Marcus join the team at this time will help ensure we are best-placed to capitalise on these opportunities."

JWS also recently appointed international lawyer Martin Kuding following his return to Australia from a secondment in London with Ashurst.
