Restructuring and insolvency lawyer Zina Edwards has left one global firm in favour of K&L Gates.
Ms Edwards (pictured) has left her role as senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills to take up the position of special counsel at the K&L Gates Sydney office.

Ms Edwards has experience advising major trading and investment banks, syndicates, funds and public companies in relation to various high-profile and complex financial turnarounds, restructurings and special situations.
She has worked on a large number of distressed and performing portfolio sale transactions in Australia and across Asia acting for both purchasers and sellers, and has experience with debt trading and structured finance transactions.
In addition, Ms Edwards is qualified as a solicitor in England and worked in London for over five years at Allen & Overy.
She is also chair of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA)'s NextGen NSW Chapter – the leading global association for professionals in corporate restructuring, turnaround management and distressed investing.
K&L Gates also recently appointed special counsel Veg Tran from Shelston IP.
