National marks leadership handover

A commercial lawyer has stepped into the role of managing principal at a leading national firm.

Terry McCabe, managing principal of McCabes Lawyers, has passed leadership of the national firm on to Andrew Lacey (pictured).

Mr McCabe, who founded the firm in 1991, will continue practising as leader of the private clients practice group.

“Andrew knows that adaptability and flexibility will keep McCabes a special place to work and to serve our clients. His energy, attention to detail and passion for McCabes are extraordinary.

“Our journey from here to 25 years' time will be a good one,” Mr McCabe said.

Mr Lacey’s promotion was officially announced at the 25th anniversary celebrations for McCabes Lawyers last week.

He has worked for the firm since 2001, and led McCabes’ commercial litigation and dispute resolution group as its principal lawyer from 2006.

“I feel honoured to be taking over the role from Terry as managing principal, and look forward to building on the solid foundations that have been laid over the last 25 years,” Mr Lacey said.

Mr Lacey was recognised in the 2015 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards as a Partner of the Year finalist.
