Ashurst has announced the appointment of two new board members for terms of three years, commencing 1 November.

Bernd Egbers (pictured left) and Jason Radford (pictured right) have joined the board, bringing its total member count to 10, including four in Australia.

Mr Egbers is a finance partner in the Munich office, specialising in both domestic and cross-border structured finance transactions. He has particular expertise in acquisition finance and corporate lending and represents national and international private equity investors, as well as financial institutions.

Mr Radford is an energy and infrastructure partner in the London office, following a stint in New York from 2011 to set up Ashurst's energy and infrastructure practice. He has been involved in many aspects of energy, transport and infrastructure transactions, including joint ventures, M&A, fundraisings, project finance and PPP transactions.

The chairman of the board, Ben Tidswell, is London-based, while vice-chairman Mary Padbury, managing partner Paul Jenkins, and partners Roger Davies and Jennie Mansfield are all Australia-based.

Partner Angela Pearson and independent board members Robert Gillespie and David Turner round out the board in the UK.

“I would like to congratulate Bernd and Jason on their appointment. They both have exceptional credentials and their skills, energy and commitment will be a considerable asset as we drive forward our business,” Mr Tidswell said.

“I am confident that they will make a significant contribution to the board and in shaping the firm's future.”

The election is part of the normal rotation of board members, following the conclusion of the terms of partners Cristina Calvo and Mark Vickers.
