An international law firm has recruited two special counsel, one who joins from Herbert Smith Freehills and the other from DibbsBarker.

K&L Gates has announced Rebecca Taseff (pictured left) has rejoined its Perth office from HSF, while Melissa McGrath (pictured right) has joined the firm’s Sydney office from DibbsBarker.

In their new roles, Ms Taseff will take to K&L Gates’ labour, employment and workplace safety team and Ms McGrath will join its intellectual property team.

Ms Taseff has vast experience as a workplace relations lawyer, having worked across various industries in both private and public sectors, according to a statement from K&L Gates.

Ms Taseff has also completed a number of in-house secondments in human resources and workplace relations advisory roles.

In her spare time, she also lectures at Murdoch University Law School in both postgraduate and undergraduate employment law courses.

Meanwhile, Ms McGrath has developed her intellectual property expertise significantly as a former partner and practice group leader at DibbsBarker’s intellectual property, technology and competition practice for four years.

Throughout her legal career, Ms McGrath has also gained significant expertise across multiple industries, including in-house secondments for Westpac Banking Corporation and Vodafone Australia.
