Hopewell has particular expertise in major development and infrastructure projects, master-planned residential communities and road and water infrastructure.

On top of being a lawyer, he is also qualified and experienced in urban and regional planning, environment management and public administration. He has a strong background in public sector management which includes holding some senior roles in the Queensland Government. He first joined Gadens in 2004, taking up the position of director in 2005.
