TRANS-TASMAN firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts has taken on three new senior associates in Emma Warden, Katie Elkin and Meredith Ussher.

Warden has developed an expertise in employment, public and education law, having been with the firm since 2002. She has experience representing employers at mediation and in litigation; researching and advising on a wide array of employment and human resources related issues; and advising on the impact of legislative change.

Warden provides advice to a variety of central Government agencies and Crown entities on matters of public law and compliance with legislation including the State Sector Act, Privacy Act and Official Information Act.

With experience in all areas of employment law, Elkin is an expert in drafting, interpreting and advising on employment documentation including employment agreements, and HR policies and procedures.

She provides clients with advice relating to every aspect of the employment relationship, from recruitment through to the end of employment and beyond. Elkin regularly represents clients in litigation and has extensive experience in mediation and in negotiating settlements on behalf of her clients.

Ussher has a particular interest in the regulation and governance of the gaming and racing industries. She is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, specialising in information and communication technology, intellectual property and company law. She also advises clients on business acquisitions and disposals, company and securities law compliance and general governance issues.
