Clayton Utz Brisbane has promoted Frazer Moss to partner in its national construction industry team. His practice focuses on the management and resolution of construction disputes. John Middleton has been appointed as a senior associate with the corporate group, moving across from McCullough Robertson to join the Brisbane taxation team, specialising in CGT, GST and corporate restructuring as well as business asset sales.

Minter Ellison Legal Group has appointed six new partners, one in Adelaide and five in NZ. Brett Thorneycroft has started in Adelaide. He is a corporate and commercial lawyer with more than 12 years’ experience, and specialises in M&A and major project work. Geoff Busch and Kate Lane have been appointed at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts in NZ. Both Busch and Lane were previously at Chapman Tripp. Bruce Bernacchi, Zane Kennedy and Jeffrey Lai were all promoted to partner. Partner Damien Gare has returned from overseas study leave as group head of the insurance division at Minter Ellison Perth.

Michael Sing Lawyers - Legal Solutions has signed up commercial property lawyer Annette Greenhow, who has recently returned from working in Europe. Before going overseas, she worked at Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Alex Hartmannhas recently been promoted to partner at Phillips Fox. He joins the firm’s Sydney construction practice. Hartmann has more than 15 years experience in Sydney, Melbourne and London as a specialist construction, engineering and major projects lawyer. Professor Robin Creyke, a member of the firm’s government team, has also been appointed to the position of Alumni Chair of Administrative Law at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Justin Gisz has been appointed to the position of Legal Counsel-Oceania at DHL International (Aust) Pty Limited. Formerly of KPMG Legal, Gisz is a corporate and commercial lawyer with significant litigation experience. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing the legal and regulatory affairs of the DHL Express and DHL Danzas Air & Ocean operations across the Oceania region including Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands.
