Beauchamp has been the acting secretary of the Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government since September 2010 and was deputy secretary (governance) in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet from August 2009.
In December 2009, she was appointed Commonwealth coordinator general to oversee implementation of the Government's economic stimulus plan. In June 2010, she was awarded a public service medal for outstanding public service in coordinating the Australian Government's response to the 2009 Victorian bushfires.
"Ms Beauchamp has extensive experience in public administration, having held senior positions in program delivery ... she will be a valuable addition to the Council and will make a positive contribution to oversight of the Commonwealth administrative law system," said McClelland.
