Alexia is passionate about law firms investing in the health and wellbeing of their people. An insurance and risk lawyer by background, Alexia is responsible for the management of enterprise-wide risk at Clayton Utz. She was honoured to receive the 2019 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Award for Wellbeing Advocate of the Year, recognising her leadership in mental health and wellbeing best practice both at Clayton Utz and the broader business community.
Alexia's work and advocacy led to Clayton Utz appointing its first-ever National Mental Health Manager, consultant psychologist Emma Howard. Emma works alongside Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Julio Bara, to deliver the firm's mental health strategy as well as its broader health, safety and wellbeing strategy. Both strategies have people at their centre, with a focus on early intervention and prevention, mental health education, training and awareness, and an open and supportive work environment that encourages people to seek help when they need it.
