Infrastructure, Utilities and Energy Lawyer of the Year

This award recognises an infrastructure, utilities and energy lawyer who has successfully capitalised on market opportunities and driven further business growth throughout their organisation.

It includes in-house lawyers who work in all types or infrastructure, utilities and energy organisations, including, but not limited to, organisations that specialise in renewable energy, power and utilities projects, and nuclear and mining projects. This also includes organisations that are involved in land and resource access work.

It is open to all in-house lawyers who have been employed by an Australian infrastructure, utilities and/or energy organisation that has been active for at least two full financial years.

To be eligible for this award, the lawyer needs to successfully demonstrate completed activities for their organisation in the 12 months from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017.

Assessment Criteria:

Nominees will be judged on their responses to the following:

  • Detail outstanding work over the past 12 months, including successful initiatives you had a hand in developing.
  • How have you used innovation to successfully assist your organisation in meeting targets in the infrastructure, utilities and energy sector(s)?
  • How have you mitigated the risks that this work has imposed?
  • What sets you apart from other infrastructure, utilities and energy lawyers in the Australian market?
