This award recognises a sports and entertainment lawyer who has properly upheld the corporate responsibilities of their organisation.
It includes in-house lawyers who work in all types of sports and entertainment organisations. Entrants will be judged on their ability to advise their organisation on complex commercial matters. These include, but are not limited to, licensing and regulatory requirements, production agreements, intellectual property rights, contract negotiation, sales and distribution, merchandising and talent agreements, and dispute resolution cases.
It is open to all in-house lawyers who have been employed by a sports and/or entertainment organisation that has been trading for at least two full financial years.
To be eligible for this award, the lawyer needs to demonstrate work completed for their organisation in the 12 months from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017.
