Judging Process

The Lawyers Weekly Corporate Counsel Awards is open to in-house lawyers and in-house legal teams across a broad range of industries in Australia. 

This award recognises outstanding performance by an individual/team working in-house, including corporate and public sector lawyers. The award is open to any lawyer/team working as a dedicated in-house lawyer/team, embedded on full-time secondment, or working as a flexible legal services professional for the 2017 calendar year. The individual/team must be fully integrated into the entity and not conduct any work on any private practice matters.

The submission and judging process is as follows:

STAGE 1: Industry participants are invited to lodge a personal submission, or a submission on a colleague’s behalf, answering a number of key questions. An entrant can be nominated for multiple categories. 

Submissions open in November and require online written responses as well as attachments.

STAGE 2: The submission period is four weeks. Submissions must be lodged online and completed by 5.30pm, Friday,10 November.

STAGE 3: Submissions are assessed and shortlisted, with finalists announced in late-November on www.lawyersweekly.com.au

STAGE 4: Submissions will be delivered to a panel of respected industry professionals and business leaders, who will assess each submission. Judges will score each submission.

STAGE 5: Winners will be announced by category, with the awards presented at a black-tie function held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday,1 March, 2018.  

Tickets will go on sale once the finalists have been announced.
