Deal significance: The sale follows Orient-Express' 2010 sale of Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa on which Baker& McKenzie also advised. The purchase by Langham Hotels will make the Observatory their second hotel in Australia. The hotel is an elegant 96-room Georgian-style building, positioned in the heart of Sydney CBD. Orient-Express are owners or part-owners and managers of a portfolio of 46 luxury hotels, restaurants, tourist trains and river cruise properties spanning 23 countries.  The company is based in London.
