FREEHILLS acted as Australian legal counsel to Ten Network Holdings Limited (TEN) on its $138m institutional placement which was fully underwritten by Macquarie Capital Advisers Limited.

The firm has confirmed its involvement a day after The New Lawyer broke news about the deal.

Freehills partners Fiona Gardiner-Hill and Philippa Stone and solicitor Carl Hornigold made up the team advising on the placement.

Freehills’ capital markets team has in recent times advised on many of Australia’s largest placement offerings, including placements by Lend Lease, CFS Retail Property Trust, Transfield Services and the $2 billion placement by the Commonwealth Bank in October 2008, which was awarded the Equity Market Deal of the Year at the 2009 ALB Australasian Law Awards.
