Mallesons’ legal team included partner Katrina Rathie leading on the IP aspects, partner Michael Barker and solicitor Adrian Slack from M&A. Partner Sharon Henrick and solicitor Tamara Hunter worked on the competition aspects of the deal. Barker said: “The acquisition extends Nestlé’s Purina PetCare business following its previous acquisition of Supercoat petfoods, on which we also advised the client.” The transaction is expected to close within a month. Prior to the sale, the KraMar business was majority owned by AMP Private Equity funds, together with founder Ed Kreamar.
