Deal: Allied Mills acquires the starch processing business conducted by Grain Products Australia (GPA) in Tamworth, NSW

Area: Corporate

Value: Undisclosed

Key players: The Allied Mills legal team was led by Nikki Town, supported by the Gadens Lawyers team, including corporate partner Paul Brown, property partner John Grimble and planning/environment partner Anthony Whealy. Warren Davis and Matthew Pieterse (corporate), Christina Renner (planning and environment), Mike Steell and Melinda Wong (property) and Cameron Steele (stamp duty) were also involved.

Deal significance: GPA went into receivership late last year and Allied Mills completed the purchase on 22 March 2013. Joe Di Leo, Allied Mills managing director, said: “When GPA went into receivership, it was all hands to the wheel to complete due diligence and contract negotiations in a very tight time frame. The Gadens team rolled their sleeves up and worked alongside us to get the deal done.”
