Deal significance:Private equity firm Anchorage announced early this month that it would close Anchorage Capital Partners Fund II. Significant interest from both existing and new investors meant that the Fund II was oversubscribed and capped at $250 million; the Fund closed in less than six months. Lead Minters partner Nathan Cahill said: “We are delighted to have worked with Anchorage again on yet another successful fund raising which has attracted top institutional investors from around the globe and further cements special situation investment in Australia. It was an achievement to have a first and final close which was successfully negotiated in a short timeframe.”
