Key players: Jol Rogers (pictured) was the lead partner for K&L Gates, and he was assisted by partners Brendan McDonnell, Justin Lethlean, Philip Diviny and Kathy Dalton; special counsel David Hartnett; senior associate Rebecca Bolton, and lawyers Ryan Hellman, Melissa Phillips and Mark McKinley.

Partners Steve Curtain and Ric Birkett led the team from Aitken Partners.

Deal significance: FEI Company has bought nanoTechnology Systems, which is its Australian distributor. FEI Company designs, manufactures and supports a broad range of high-performance microscopy workflow solutions that provide images and answers in the micro, nano and picometer scales. It has more than 2500 employees in more than 50 countries around the world.
