Area: Building and construction

Key players: The team advising Landbridge was led by KWM projects and real estate partner David Bell (pictured) and tax partner Katrina Parkyn.

The team advising the NT government was led by MinterEllison real estate partner Cameron Charlton and corporate partner Lachlan Drew.

Deal significance: Landbridge is a port and logistics operator based in the Shandong province of China.

Its agreement with the NT government will see construction of a luxury hotel on Darwin’s waterfront commence next year.

This latest agreement comes after KWM advised Landbridge on the winning bid to operate Darwin Port under a 99-year lease in October 2015.

“Once again, we were very pleased to advise and work with Landbridge on this strategic development that looks to achieve continued economic growth and development for the Northern Territory region,” said David Bell, KWM projects and real estate partner.
