Automotive merger secured

Three firms have advised on the merger of a prominent classified car sales business with a new Australia-based subsidiary of an international auto services provider.

Key players: The Mills Oakley team was led by corporate partner Warren Scott (pictured), with assistance from corporate partner Daniel Livingston, special counsel Nicole Tumiati, senior associate James Williams and lawyer Luke Duggan.

CarsGuide was jointly represented by King Wood & Mallesons corporate partner Peter Stirling and senior associate David Bryant, and Robinson Legal corporate partner Julie Briscoe.

Deal significance: Cox Automotive is one of the world’s leading suppliers of automotive services.

This deal is expected to result in the combination of the existing Cox Automotive businesses in Australia, including Dealer Solutions and Manheim Auctions, with CarsGuide, one of Australia’s largest automotive classifieds websites.

Once the transaction is completed, the merger will allow Cox Automotive Australia to be able to connect customers to a suite of powerful solutions in the automotive marketplace, in both the wholesale and the retail sector.
