Key players: The Baker & McKenzie team advising Sundance Energy was led by partner Andrew Reilly. Associates Heath Trisdale and Anna Kramer assisted with the transaction.

Deal significance: Sundance Energy is an ASX-listed onshore oil and gas company with headquarters in Colorado, US.

Shares for the Australian company, as represented by American depository receipts, have now been listed on Nasdaq.

Andrew Reilly, who is a Sydney-based US corporate partner for Baker & McKenzie, led the transaction.

According Mr Reilly, Sundance Energy’s Nasdaq listing follows a trend among Australian companies to seek out higher valuations and access to larger pools of capital.

“We are pleased to have represented Sundance Energy on this important transaction and note that it is the third Nasdaq listing for an Australian client that we have advised on over the past 12 months,” Mr Reilly said.

“Baker & McKenzie have acted as US and Australian counsel to more Australian companies on Nasdaq listings than any other law firm.”

Earlier this year Sundance Energy offered investors a stake in $10 million worth of shares as part of a $90 million equity raising.
