Key players: The Singtel and Optus in-house team was led by senior corporate counsel Jason Georgallis. Lynton Alderson assisted with commercial and bid strategy.

Deal significance:

The latest deal between ANZ and Singtel and Optus will see group’s renewed global network services agreement run to 2020.

Through the partnership, Singtel and Optus has undertaken to provide domestic and international data network services, contact centre services and managed services. The group will also cater to the retail bank’s mobility and collaboration needs.

The original deal to service ANZ’s Asia-Pacific operations was struck in 2003. Optus and ANZ entered into a strategic partnership in 2009, with a five-year ICT services deal announced in 2013.

Speaking of the extended deal, Optus corporate counsel Jason Georgallis said it was a positive outcome for all parties.

“The negotiations were conducted with a collaborative attitude, which is a testament to the quality of personnel at Optus,” Mr Georgallis said.
