Minter Ellison acted for ANZ Banking Group on a $391.5 million secured acquisition facility to Multiplex Finance Trust. This was used to fund the cash component of Multiplex Property Trust’s $1.3 billion off-market listed takeover bid for all the stapled securities issued in the Ronin Property Trust. Daniel Marks led the law firm’s team, which comprised Roger Corkery, Renae Suttor and Vanessa Armstrong (all from the firm’s finance group) with advice on M&A/corporate issues from Ron Forster and Asha Rengaswamy.

Simmons & Simmons advised ABN AMRO Rothschild in its dual roles as financial adviser to Hong Kong-listed company GOME Electrical Appliance Holding Limited (GOME) in its acquisition of a majority stake in Beijing-based appliance chain GOME Appliance Co., Ltd. for a total of approximately HK$8.3 ($1.4) billion. The deal was led by partners Nicholas Norris and David Neuville, supported by corporate consultant Victoria Lloyd.
