Don’t mess with a lawyer’s lunch

Don’t mess with a lawyer’s lunch

There is always one in every office: the colleague that meticulously labels their special homemade, portion-controlled lunch to be eaten at the same time, every day.
Disturb this routine and there will be trouble. Do this to a lawyer, who is not doubt overworked, tired and hungry, and you will get a very angry email.
As Rollonfriday reports, a “Furious Clifford Chance Lawyer” felt the need to send an email to the entire staff of Clifford Chance’s Dubai office last week, lamenting about his stolen lunch. Folklaw found the email quite entertaining, so here’s how it went:
“Apologies for the mass email but please could whoever took my pancakes (clearly labelled with my name on the box) out of the microwave oven whilst I left them for 15 minutes and helped themselves not do this again. There is no evidence of them in any of the kitchen bins.
Last week I also lost a dinner, a soup and two portions of fruit from the fridge, all in separate plastic boxes and clearly labelled with my name.
I understand from talking to others that I am not the only person suffering from this. It is particularly unhelpful for people eating specific meals at certain times of day. It is also theft.
Many thanks,
Furious Clifford Chance Lawyer."
Admittedly, it wasn’t just any lunch stolen – there were pancakes – but Folklaw can’t help but laugh at the stern group email reminding all Clifford Chance staff that taking his/her lunch is also theft. Folklaw is hoping that this is the end of the lunch theft so things don’t escalate to something more serious.
