News from Victorian Attorney-General Rob Hulls that politicians may have to do jury duty makes perfect sense to Folklaw.
Hulls announced this week that a discussion paper on allowing politicians to become jurors would be completed by the end of 2009.
Not only are most politicians used to criminal proceedings and are at home in court, but they are highly skilled in sitting for hours without making a contribution to debate and arguing behind closed doors.
Even better, the Victorian Law Reform Commission has recommended that judges dumb down their directions to juries - so the even pollies will understand them...
