Suffering a tyre blow out on the Stuart Highway, which caused the car to roll and crash, still didn't halt the 26-year-old thief, who apparently refused medical aid at the crash site before hitching a ride 25 kilometres further down the road, according to reports from ABC Online.
By the time police finally caught up with him, they had to chase the suspect on foot for further two kilometers through the bushland before being able to arrest him. He was later charged with driving without a licence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The suspect was also believed to have fled a service station without paying for petrol on his six-day jaunt.
