Courtney Love has once again spat the dummy - this time over the Guitar Hero 5 avatar of her late husband, Kurt Cobain.

Love claims that she did not approve Cobain's digital likeness, nor the feature that allows gamers to unlock Cobain's avatar and have him play songs by other artists.

Love had already vented her spleen on Twitter, but in a follow-up interview with True magazine she said her next step would be court action.

"We are going to sue the s--t out of Activision; 'we' being the Trust, the Estate, the LLC, the various LLCs, Cobain Enterprises ... For the record, this Guitar Hero s--t is breach of contract on a bully's part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction."

Other real-life rockers featured in the latest edition of the popular rhythm game franchise for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Wii include Carlos Santana and Johnny Cash. Previous Guitar Hero editions have featured the likenesses of Jimi Hendrix, Billy Corgan, Ted Nugent, Sting, Ozzy Osbourne, Travis Barker and members of Aerosmith.
