Struggling to keep your eyes open while sitting at your desk? If you're a lawyer, there's a good reason why, as law has just earned to dubious honour of being the 8th most sleep deprived profession.
According to a UK study by Travelodge surveying the sleep patterns of 4000 professionals, lawyers on average are getting 6 hours and 32 minutes of sleep a night.
But be grateful for not being an estate agent - at least in the UK - according to the study British estate agents are getting on average just five hours and 50 minutes sleep a night.
Based on the entire findings of the study, Travelodge declared the UK to be suffering from an insomnia epidemic with more than 23 million Britons losing sleep every night due to the dread of work the next day.
The study found that 28 per cent of respondent who lost sleep because of work did so because they were dealing with a difficult boss, while 19 per cent tossed and turned due to the thought of giving an important presentation, and another 18 per cent put it down to missing a work deadline.
