Above the Law reports that prospective students of North Carolina's Wake Forest Law School received an email saying they had been offered the $30,000 per year scholarship, only to be told in a follow-up email - with the subject line "ERROR!" - that the initial offer was a mistake caused by a technical glitch.

The email breaking the disappointing news explained: "The scholarship award letter you just received was sent in error. We cannot tell you how sorry we are that this even happened and we hope that you will accept our sincerest apology. Please call me if you have any questions."

One student was able to find the funny side of the email blunder, commenting that her email account name described perfectly what happened to all the unlucky students that day.
