Fur is set to fly after a South Australian local council restricted to two the number of cats allowed in any one household, reports Perth Now.

In a controversial bylaw officially endorsed by Mitcham council, cat lovers everywhere will now have to limit their feline family in strict accordance with the controversial two-cat policy - unless they can convince council that any additional moggies are not "impacting negatively on the community."

Folklaw can only speculate as to what is involved in presenting such a case, though hopes that convincing councilors that Mittens, Fluffy and Snowball aren't liable to terrorise the community - and should not, therefore, be surrendered to the RSPCA to meet an uncertain end - will not prove too difficult.
