According to local authorities, 46-year-old Michael Rauch threw three well-placed punches at opponent John Fisher while they bickered about a civil lawsuit involving a 2003 car crash.

While Fisher was left with a shiner or two, Rauch was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Apparently Rauch told police that he had asked Fisher to leave him alone, but Fisher continued to provoke him.

Following the courtroom biff, Rauch was chucked into a cell to reflect on his behaviour, which cost him $10,000 in unsecured bail.
