A sneaky British law firm cashier is now doing time for five years after gorging herself on a truck load of client pounds held by her former employer Williamson & Soden Solicitors.

RollonFriday reports that Louise Martini, who was hired straight out of school and worked at the firm as a loyal cashier for almost twenty years, chose to top-up her measly £24,000 ($38,000) a year salary with a not-to-be-sneezed-at £1.7 million.

When she finally got nicked for her embezzling spree, which lasted seven years, Martini was the proud owner of a house, a nice little watering hole, a stake in a racehorse and an impressive array of bling and footwear.

Despite Martini's humble salary, staff at the firm were under the impression she was married to a rich businessman and it thus took them almost a decade to figure out she'd smarted the firm and its clients out of quite a few Jimmy Choos.

Despite her eventual fall from grace (which was followed by swift sacking and eventual arrest) Martini penned a heart-felt letter to the firm - which, she gushed, "meant everything" to her - to ask that her "18 and a half years of loyal service should at least be taken into account against one foolish act".

But alas, the letter fell on deaf ears, and Martini is now wiling away the hours in a strictly "no bling allowed" facility.
