This exciting, unique and brand new role with a global, ASX listed dispute finance company, will appeal to an experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer/in-house Corporate Counsel looking to use their legal expertise in a different way from the 'traditional' law firm environment.

In this non-practising role you will be working closely with like-minded professionals (eg. Commercial Litigation Lawyers, In-house Corporate Counsel, Barristers, Business leaders etc.) and utilising your proven investigation, analytical and drafting skills, undertaking merits & risk review and assisting Managers with client services and their marketing activities.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a good grasp of commercial litigation, strong knowledge of civil procedure/processes and sound understanding of Corporations Law.

On any given day, specific duties may include (but not be limited to) assisting with:
  • the assessment of funding opportunities eg. for arbitration claims, insolvency claims and commercial disputes (eg. analysis of legal issues and conduct of factual investigations to assess merit and risk);
  • Assisting colleagues with case management & policy submissions;
  • Liaising key stakeholders eg. clients, media, law firms, barristers and other expert advisors.
To be successful here it is envisage that you will have:
  • 5-10 years background/experience in commercial litigation, on the larger-scale end, eg. more typically handled by 'mid to top' tier law firms;
  • An approachable manner with a positive, can do, hands on approach;
  • The ability to work autonomously, think outside the square and be part of a collaborative & supportive team.
